The XLRI Jamshedpur administers the Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT), a national aptitude exam, to candidates for admission to MBA and PGDM programmes. XAMI employs XLRI to carry out XAT. The XAT score is used by more than 160 institutions for admissions.

Given that XLRI is one of the top 5 business schools in the nation, it is the second most popular MBA entrance exam after the CAT. XLRI was the nation’s first business school, founded in 1949, and offers highly esteemed programs in business management and human resource management.

XAT 2025 exam date is expected to be January 5, 2025. XLRI, Jamshedpur will release the XAT application form in August tentatively. XAT 2025 will be conducting the XAT 2025 exam for more than 1 lakh candidates. XAT 2025 score will be considered for MBA admission at 160+ XAT colleges. XAT 2024 Eligibility Criteria

The following are the requirements for XAT 2025  eligibility must be met in order to be admitted to all XAMI member colleges and other B-schools that accept XAT scores:

A three-year bachelor’s degree in any discipline, or its equivalent, from an accredited university is required of candidates.

Candidates who are waiting on their results or who are taking their bachelor’s degree final exam may also apply for the XAT exam as long as they turn in their mark sheet and bachelor’s degree certificate by the end of the admission year.

Age Limit for XAT 2024:

There is no upper age limit to apply for XAT 2024. Fresh graduates, as well as working professionals, can apply for the XAT exam. Furthermore, only students who expect to finish their final examinations before June 10, 2024, are eligible to apply.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent of three-year duration in any discipline from any university. Candidates appearing for a final year can also apply
General Management
A Bachelor’s degree of a minimum of three years is mandatory. Candidates should have at least 5 years of managerial/supervisory experience. XAT 2023 or GMAT score can also be used

XAT 2025 registration will begin in the month of July or August 2024. Candidates will be required to register for XAT 2024 at the XATONLINE website by paying the requisite fees. The registration window will remain open until the last week of November 2024. The XAT 2025 schedule will be released by XLRI in July 2024.

  • Open XAT 2025 website in a new window or click here: https://xatonline.in/
  • Click on ‘Registration’
  • Enter details like name, phone number, email ID, password and captcha code
  • A unique XAT ID and registration link is shared on the verified email ID
  • Click on the link to verify registration

If you do not receive the registration confirmation mail, with your XAT ID & Password, within 24 hours of signing up, please check your spam/junk folder or you can write to admis@xlri.ac.in or call up on 1800-209-0835 between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM (IST). The exam authorities will get back to you in 48 hours (excluding holidays).

Submit the XAT Application Form 2025

After XAT 2025 registration verification, follow the steps given below to fill the application form:

  • Go to XAT 2025 homepage
  • Click on ‘login’
  • Enter email ID and password
  • The XAT 2025 application form will be displayed
  • Enter the details asked in the application form
  • Cross check the information before hitting the submit button

Pay XAT Exam Fees

XAT 2024 Exam Pattern

The XAT exam pattern is divided into two parts: PART 1 and Part 2.

Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude and Data Interpretation, and Decision Making are the three components that make up Part 1. There is no time limit on moving between portions, and you have two hours and forty-five minutes to complete this part. Every question is a multiple-choice question (MCQ) with five possible answers.

General Knowledge and Analytical Essay Writing are covered in Part 2. After Part 1’s time limit has passed, candidates get 25 minutes for this section.

For Part 1, a correct response would receive a point value of +1, while an incorrect response would result in a deduction of 0.25 points. If, however, there are more than eight unanswered questions, there will be a 0.1 mark penalty for each extra question (up from the first eight).

There are no deductions for Part 2. However, only Part 1 is taken into account when calculating the percentile. Part 2 is taken into account by XLRI in the final stages of the selection process; the precise weights assigned to it are not known.

XAT 2024 Syllabus

XAT syllabus is prescribed by XLRI Jamshedpur. The XAT exam syllabus includes all the key topics of Verbal & Logical Ability, Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation and General Knowledge. XAT has one unique section – Decision Making, for which candidates need to work separately. To score good marks in XAT, 2025, candidates have to cover every topic of the syllabus, as questions can be asked from any topic.

XAT 2024 Selection Process

Every college that accepts XAT scores will use a different selection procedure. A personal interview would be required in most universities, but there would also be a second round that would consist of GD/PI/WAT. Each college would have its own set of requirements regarding whether to perform an Extempore, Written Ability Test, or Group Discussion. 

Below is the selection procedure for XLRI:

  • Fill out the XAT 2024 Registration and Application Form by the last date
  • Apply to XLRI through the same application form selecting BM/HRM or both.
  • Appear for the XAT test on January 7, 2024
  • Check your XAT score and you would receive a shortlist mail from XLRI if selected for the interview stage.
  • Fill out the Detailed SOP form and appear for the interview.
  • Check the Final result and pay the acceptance fee by the specified date.
