The Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GD and PI) round, which is conducted by the participating institutes, is the second stage of the NMAT admission cycle. There may be unique selection standards for final admissions at each institute.

Following the release of the NMAT results, candidates will receive calls from various B-schools according to their unique cutoff scores. The majority of institutions, such as NMIMS Mumbai and other NMIMS campuses, have both a general and a section-specific cutoff.

The candidates would proceed to the second round of the admissions process after being shortlisted. At this point, each college is free to select the components they want. While personal interviews are the norm, individual universities may choose to evaluate candidates’ written and spoken abilities as well as their personalities through group discussions (GD), impromptu speaking, and/or written ability tests.
